SUBJECT: 1% ART SELECTION COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE NEW HOMER POLICE STATION PROJECT

In accordance with the 1% for Art Program documented in Homer City Code 18.07.030 and as outlined in Homer City Code 18.07.050 where works of art are to be incorporated in the construction of a City building or facility or its grounds, such works of art shall be selected and recommended to the Council for approval by a jury consisting of the architect or project designer, a representative of the user department, representative(s) of the Commission, the Department Director, an artist and such additional persons that the Commission may designate, subject to Council approval.

The Parks, Art, Recreation and Culture Advisory Commission at their meeting on January 17, 2019 reviewed the requirements of the program, the initial draft of the request for proposals and recommended the following to be appointed by City Council to the New Homer Police Station Project 1% Art Selection Committee:

PARC Commissioners – Clark Fair and Jon Sharp
Architectural/Design – Giovanna Gambardella, Stantec
Department Director – Police Chief Robl or designated representative
Department Personnel Representative – Police Officer or Dispatcher
Parks Maintenance Coordinator – Matt Steffy
Representative from the Homer Arts & Culture Alliance – Judith Kramer

Staff – Carey Meyer, City Engineer/Public Works Director
Pat McNary, Project Manager
