Register Now for the Industry Outlook Forum - Hosted in Homer January 5th

The Kenai Peninsula Economic Development District is holding its annual Industry Outlook Forum in Homer on Thursday, January 5th at the Christian Community Church from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. 

The Industry Outlook Forum brings business professionals and industry leaders together from around the Kenai Peninsula and the State to discuss key economic factors and industry trends.  A Homer Panel of experts will discuss:

Three Easy Preparedness Tips for World Tsunami Awareness Day - Nov 5

Homer is an awesome place to live, but it is a little wild. We often experience earthquakes and that puts us at risk for landslides and tsunamis.

Tsunamis are rare events, but they can be extremely deadly.  In the past 100 years, 58 of them have claimed more than 260,000 lives, or an average of 4,600 per disaster, surpassing any other natural hazard.

2019-2024 Capital Improvement Plan

Attached is the City of Homer's 2019-2024 Capital Improvement Plan, or CIP for short.  

The CIP provides information on capital projects identified as priorities for the Homer community.  The projects included in the City of Homer’s CIP were compiled with input from the public, area-wide agencies, and City staff, as well as various advisory commissions serving the City of Homer.

Descriptions of City projects include ways the project will benefit the community, cost and schedule information and a priority designation Level 1 (highest), 2 or 3.

Elks Award Lt. Browning for Drug Prevention Efforts

At their April 7th awards banquet, the Homer Elks #2127 awarded Lt. Ryan Browning of the Homer Police Department with the Elks' National Enrique Camarena Award.

Homer Elks #2127 is the first lodge in Alaska to award a law enforcement officer with an Elks National Award.  The Enrique Camarena Award was established by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks to recognize and honor law enforcement officers who have made a significant contribution in the field of drug prevention and who personify Agent Camarena’s belief that one person can make a difference.
