3. Heating Water
If you have a large family, tight home and fuel efficient appliances, you may experience the greatest savings in changing out your hot water heater.
a. Standard water heater. A standard natural gas water heater can be less expensive than an on demand water heater. The type of water heater you choose depends on how much hot water you need available at once.
b. On demand hot water. Converting a propane on demand hot water heater to natural gas requires a lot of labor and it may be more cost effective to purchase a new natural gas on demand heater.
