ORDINANCE 11-16(A)
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AMENDING THE FY 2011 OPERATING BUDGET BY APPROPRIATING $20,000 FROM THE WATER SEWER DEPRECIATION RESERVES TO PURCHASE A USED ALLMAN LIGHT TOWER AND A USED DYNAPAC DIESEL PLATE.
WHEREAS, A local contracting / construction firm is ceasing operations and is offering all of its equipment for disposal and sale; and
WHEREAS, The Department of Public Works has reviewed and inspected the list of available equipment and has identified two items, the Allman Light Tower ($10,000) and the Dynapac Diesel Plate ($9,000), that would be particularly useful; and
WHEREAS, These pieces of equipment are well maintained and purchasing them new would cost an additional $12,300; and
WHEREAS, The Public Works Department frequently rents pieces of equipment similar to these for construction, maintenance, and repair on roads, water and sewer lines, and other applications, and acquiring this equipment would save money and increase efficiency in the long term.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:
Section 1: The Homer City Council hereby amends the FY 2011 Operating Budget by appropriating $20,000 from the Water Sewer Depreciation Reserves for the purpose of acquiring a used Allman Light Tower ($10,000) and a used Dynapac Diesel Plate ($9,000) as follows:
