AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING STATE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS CAPITAL PROJECT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,500 TO PURCHASE NEW LOCKERS FOR PRISONER’S PERSONAL PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, The State Department of Corrections has awarded $3,500 to the Police Department in Capital Project Funds; and
WHEREAS, The Capital Project Funds are provided for community jails to purchase equipment, perform maintenance, or for other needs related to the confinement of prisoners; and
WHEREAS, The funds will be utilized to purchase new lockers for prisoner’s personal property.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:
Section 1. The Homer City Council hereby accepts and appropriates State Department of Corrections Capital Project Funds in the amount of $3,500 to purchase new lockers for prisoner’s personal property as follows:
