ORDINANCE 13-34
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH PARCEL NO. 17702033 (LOT 18, BLOCK 1, BARNETT’S SOUTH SLOPE SUBDIVISION, TOWNSHIP 6S, RANGE 13W, SECTION 17, SEWARD MERIDIAN), IN THE AMOUNT OF $70,000 FROM THE WATER RESERVE FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING A SITE FOR A NEW WATER TANK FOR THE CITY WATER UTILITY.
WHEREAS, The Council has appropriated funds for the design of an new water tank for the City water utility; and
WHEREAS, The City may not expend the grant funds until a site for the water tank has been identified; and
WHEREAS, After examining several potential sites that are at the right elevation and in the area suggested by the City’s Water/Sewer Master Plan, the City identified Lot 18, Block 1, Barnett’s South Slope Subdivision as an appropriate site with a willing seller.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:
Section 1. The Homer City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of Kenai Peninsula Borough Parcel No. 17702033 (Lot 18, Block 1, Barnett’s South Slope Subdivision, Township 6S, Range 13W, Section 17, Seward Meridian) with funds from the Water Reserve Fund for the purpose of providing a site for a new water tank for the City water utility as follows:
