Ordinance 18-15 Amend 2018 Operating Budget to Purchase Brushcutter

ORDINANCE 18-15

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AMENDING THE 2018 OPERATING BUDGET BY AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF AN ADDITIONAL $29,550 FROM THE PUBLIC WORKS FLEET RESERVE FUND FOR THE PURCHASE OF A BRUSH CUTTER.

                WHEREAS, City Council in the FY 2018 Operating Budget approved a capital project expenditure of $50,000 from the Public Works Reserve Fund for the purchase of a brush cutter; and

                WHEREAS, Public Works solicited quotes from two vendors for a brush cutter. The low bid was $79,550 (see Memorandum 18-032 from Public Works); and

                WHEREAS, The purchase of the brush cutter will be through the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA), a competitively awarded, nationally leveraged cooperative purchasing program; and therefore, the purchase of the equipment as described above is consistent with the requirements of the City’s procurement regulations.

                NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:

                Section 1.          The FY 2018 Operating Budget is hereby amended by appropriating an additional $29,550 from the Public Works Reserve Fund for the purchase of a brush cutter.
