Diamond Creek Recreation Area
A 275 acre undeveloped area located about 1 1/2 miles north of Homer at milepost 168. This property contains large sections of the Baycrest Ski Trail system. Look for trail expansion in the future. This property was originally acquired by the Kachemak Heritage Land Trust with a Forest Legacy Grant and private donations; the City has accepted title and designated it for a public purpose as park land. The Kachemak Nordic Ski Club maintains the winter trails in wonderful fashion, but the wetland conditions in some areas make summer recreation a little more difficult. The City of Homer has adopted a comprehensive management plan for the Diamond Creek Recreation Area which will guide development through the years.
