RESOLUTION 10-55
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AMENDING THE PUBLIC ARTS COMMITTEE ADMINISTRATIVE GUIDELINES TO INCORPORATE THE MUNICIPAL ART COLLECTION GIFT PROPOSAL APPLICATION FOR ART DONATIONS.
WHEREAS, The Public Arts Committee adopted Administrative Guidelines in 2007 via Resolution 07-31; and
WHEREAS, In recent months the donations of artwork for placement on city-owned property caused the Public Arts Committee to realize there were no guidelines to accept donations of this type; and
WHEREAS, Staff researched and drafted a Municipal Art Collection Gift Proposal Application that was reviewed and approved by the Public Arts Committee; and
WHEREAS, The City Attorney assessed the application and expressed approval of the content; and
WHEREAS, The application will provide a written account of donated artwork including description, value, placement location, and maintenance; and
WHEREAS, It is necessary to amend the Public Arts Committee Administrative Guidelines to incorporate the Municipal Art Collection Gift Proposal Application for art donations.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 28th day of June, 2010.
