RESOLUTION 10-63

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE LIVE FIRE TRAINING TRAILER TO THE FIRM OF FIRE TRAINING STRUCTURES, LLC OF PHOENIX, ARIZONA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $195,800.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PREPARE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, Ordinance 10-22 authorized the acceptance and appropriation of an Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG); and

WHEREAS, The purpose of the grant is for a live fire training trailer and forcible entry training prop for Firefighters; and

WHEREAS, The Request for Proposals was advertised in the advertised in the Anchorage Daily News May 16 and 23, 2010 , and posted on the Clerk’s website; and

WHEREAS, Proposals were due by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 and five proposals were received by the City Clerk's Office; and

WHEREAS, A Selection Committee reviewed and scored the responsive proposals; and

WHEREAS, After thorough evaluation of the capabilities, expertise and pricing offered by the proposers, the Selection Committee recommends the firm of Fire Training Structures, LLC of Phoenix, Arizona, as the appropriate firm for this project;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, awards the contract for Yearly Audited Financial Statements to the firm Fire Training Structures, LLC of Phoenix, Arizona, in the amount of $195,800.00 and authorizes the City Manager to negotiate the contract and prepare the appropriate documents.
