RESOLUTION 12-098

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT TO PACIFIC PILE AND MARINE, LP, OF SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000 FOR FENDER PILE REMOVAL AT THE DEEP WATER DOCK AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The corner fenders on the City’s Deep Water Dock were again damaged during a storm in October 2012, removal of the piling and fenders is necessary to protect the dock from damage; and

WHEREAS, Port and Harbor personnel contacted three contractors (per procurement policy) and Pacific Pile and Marine was the only contractor able to respond; and

WHEREAS, The cost of the required work cannot be reasonably anticipated and a time and material contract is appropriate and in the best interest of the City; and

WHEREAS, This proposed award is not final until written notification is received by Pacific Pile and Marine, LP from the City of Homer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, approves the award of the removal of damaged fenders and piling at the Deep Water Dock to Pacific Pile and Marine, LP, of Seattle, Washington, in the amount not to exceed $25,000; and authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents to complete construction.
