RESOLUTION 17-027

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL ESTABLISHING A MID-YEAR NOTICE REQUIREMENT FOR THE HOMER NATURAL GAS SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT PAYMENTS.

WHEREAS, Resolution 15-017 established dates for payment of the special assessments and delinquency, penalty, and interested provisions for the Homer Natural Gas Special Assessment District; and

WHEREAS, Homer Natural Gas Special Assessment District annual payments are due on July 1 annually; and

WHEREAS, A mid-year reminder to parcel owners with balance due in the Homer Natural Gas Special Assessment District would keep property owners informed of their obligation and less likely to be surprised by the July billing; and 

WHEREAS, A mid-year reminder to parcel owners with balance due in the Homer Natural Gas Special Assessment District would be beneficial to the City as it will increase payments and decrease delinquencies; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a mid-year notice reminding all parcel owners with a  balance due in the Homer Natural Gas Special Assessment district of the upcoming bill due July 1st of every year will be mailed no later than January 31 of the year the payment is due.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council on this 28th day of March, 2017.
