RESOLUTION 17-069

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO SUBMIT THREE MUNICIPAL INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS (1) THE BARGE MOORING/LARGE VESSEL HAUL OUT REPAIR FACILITY, (2) WATER STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION IMPROVEMENTS AND (3) SEAFARERS MEMORIAL PARKING EXPANSION IN ORDER OF PRIORITY TO THE STATE OF ALASKA FOR NOMINATION TO THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM.  

 

WHEREAS, It is the responsibility of City of Homer to provide essential health and safety services and participate in providing a basic framework for commerce and private industry to thrive; and

 

WHEREAS, The City of Homer, through its Capital Improvement Plan annually plans and prioritizes infrastructure projects that are important to carrying out these responsibilities; and

 

WHEREAS, The Office of the Governor of the State of Alaska is soliciting municipal infrastructure project proposals to consider for nomination to a national infrastructure funding program proposed by the Trump Administration; and

 

WHEREAS, The City of Homer has reviewed its Capital Improvement Plan and found that three projects qualify for nomination under the solicitation in that each is shovel ready, has local funds as part of the overall funding package and would contribute to one or more of the federal goals of the infrastructure funding program.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, authorizes the City Administration to submit three municipal infrastructure projects  in the following order of priority to the State of Alaska for nomination to the Trump Administration infrastructure program:
(1) Homer Barge Mooring/Large Vessel Haul Out Repair Facility,

(2) Water Storage and Distribution Improvements, and

(3) Seafarer’s Memorial Parking Expansion.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 26th day of June, 2017.
