It is the City's goal to assist event organizers in planning safe and successful events while minimizing the impact on public safety and welfare. Some events require a Special Event Permit to assure that an activity meets legal requirements of the use of public land and rights of way and assures the City that adequate services such as traffic control, sanitation, solid waste, and public safety issues are addressed. Other events may just need a courtesy notification to the appropriate City department.
Winter’s gift of snow and ice takes an unforgiving toll on our streets, making spring months a particularly bad time for potholes. Our warm spring-like weather lately is a welcome reprieve from winter’s cold and snow, but it also brings something much less welcome, an increase in the number of potholes, and with it, pothole accidents.
Join HPL staff in the Children's Library on Wednesday, March 2nd for books and crafts. We'll read aloud every hour on the half hour from 10:30 - 5:30pm.
Now we can visualize the future of the HERC site! Stantec will be presenting the conceptual site and building plans during the regular Council Meeting on February 28. This unveiling will kick off two months of public comment opportunities and community conversations. At the end of April, the matter will be back before Council to review the comments received, funding opportunities for continuing design work, and the potential timing of next steps. Please join the conversation and come view the exhibits. Submit your comments in the questionnaire below!
