Efforts Underway to Eliminate Odor Problems at the Sewer Treatment Plant

The City’s sewer treatment plant (located along the Sterling Highway at the bottom of Heath Street) is experiencing operational difficulties that are resulting in a greater than normal amount of odor being generated from the sludge lagoon.

Preliminary Report on HERC Building Released

The City contracted with Klauder & Company Architects, Inc. to analyze what it would take to bring the Homer Educational and Recreation Center (HERC), also know as the old middle school, up to code for its current use as the Homer Boys and Girls Club and for potential future use as a headquarters for City of Homer Community Recreation.
