BID OPENING FOR THE SOUNDVIEW AVENUE/ WOODARD CREEK CROSSING CULVERT REPLACEMENT

Washington D.C.-based Environmental Working Group provoked a national controversy recently when it released a study that found levels of hexavalent chromium, commonly referred to as chromium-6, in 31 cities that was higher than the health goal proposed last year by the state of California.

Illegal roof drains, sump pumps, and foundation drains connected to the City’s sanitary sewer system sends groundwater to the sewer treatment plant, consuming expensive wastewater treatment capacity. Property owners need to disconnect these prohibited connections or be willing to pay for future treatment plant expansions.

Along with the day to day maintenance of City facilities, Public Works also manages the planning, design, permitting, and construction inspection of the City's capital projects.
