Spit Trail Closure on August 21 and 22

Homer, Alaska, August 14, 2023 – The City of Homer, in conjunction with the Kenai Peninsula Borough Office of Emergency Management, will temporarily close a portion of the Spit Trail on Monday, August 21, and Tuesday, August 22, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The closure aims to facilitate the installation of enhanced tsunami sirens by the Kenai Peninsula Borough Office of Emergency Management and the execution of a testing project.

Library CLOSED for 4th of July 2023

The Homer Public Library will be CLOSED for Independence Day, Tuesday July 4th. Normal hours resume Wednesday, July 5th.

Join us for the Pre-parade meet-up between 3-5 on Monday July 3 to make megaphones, sea creature masks, and learn a chant for the parade! Or join us at the parade on July 4 to walk with BOB the Bookmobile! Families and all ages welcome!
