Changing of the Guard: Homer City Council says goodbye to Councilmember Dolma and swears in new member Gus VanDyke and incumbent Zak
Monday, October 14th, Homer City Council officially recognized Councilmember James Dolma for his year of service and swore in newly elected member Gus Van Dyke and incumbent Bryan Zak. The oath of office traditionally takes place during a special meeting a week after certifying the results of the election, however, due to schedule conflicts, formalities were held at Monday's meeting.
Outgoing Councilmember James Dolma was appointed to the seat vacated by Mayor Wythe when she was elected to hold the Office of Mayor in October 2012. Bryan Zak was re-elected to his third term. He was first elected in October of 2008. Gus Van Dyke will be serving his first term on the City Council. The Mayor and Council thanked Dolma for his service and welcomed Van Dyke and Zak.
