Boat House Pavilion Taking Shape

Steel frame for the new Boat House Pavilion on the Homer Spit

Despite days of rain interspersed with days with strong winds, the progress is being made on the Boat House Pavilion.

Equipment, building materials and a crew is on site. The steel frame went up recently and currently concrete work is in progress.

The Boat House crew reports that electrical work happens soon and Bay Weld Boats is getting to work on the beautiful mast that will really cap off the pavilion's maritime design.

The bulk of the work will be completed this fall...so when you are down on the Spit, check out the progress and thank any of the volunteers there who are giving their time and talent to the bring the project to life!  (But remember, for your safety, please respect the marked safety perimeter marked with temporary orange fencing.)

The City of Homer appreciates this collaborative effort and also thanks the Rasmuson Foundation for joining in.  They contributed grant funds to the City of Homer to purchase construction materials in support of the project.
