TO: MAYOR ZAK AND HOMER CITY COUNCIL
FROM: PORT & HARBOR ADVISORY COMMISSION
DATE: FEBRUARY 7, 2017
SUBJECT: RECOMMENDATION FOR A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION TOWER ON THE HOMER SPIT
On February 6, 2017 the Port & Harbor Advisory Commission held a special meeting and convened into executive session to review and discuss proposals submitted and CityScape Consultants, Inc. recommendation on the RFP for a Wireless Communication Tower on the Homer Spit.
The Commission adjourned the executive session and resumed the special meeting where they voted unanimously to support the recommendation from CityScape Consultants, Inc. to award the contract to Wireless Edge Towers, LLC.
The Commission also voted unanimously to support a 50-year term with an initial 10-year term followed by four 10-year renewal terms.
RECOMMENDATION: Award the contract the for a wireless communication tower to Wireless Edge Towers, LLC with an initial 10-year term followed by four 10-year renewal terms.
