New Trail at Beluga Slough in the Works
The City of Homer Public Works department in conjunction with U.S. Fish and Wildlife has been working with a large team of volunteers all week to remove the plastic material from the Beluga Slough trail. The City received a grant to replace this trail, which had become slippery and uneven, with a new safer surface that will better protect the habitat in the area. Installation of the new trail should begin later next week with trail completion by the end of September.
The City would like to thank all the volunteers who came out to help, despite inclement weather and muddy working conditions.
