RESOLUTION 16-051
A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE SHELLFISH/SOUTHSLOPE WATER MAIN EXTENSION AND SHELLFISH AVENUE PRV PROJECT TO THE FIRM OF ARNO CONSTRUCTION, INC. OF HOMER, ALASKA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $530,341.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Competitive bids were solicited for the Shellfish/South Slope Water Main Extension and Shellfish Avenue PRV project in conformance with the City of Homer’s procurement policies; and
WHEREAS, Five bids were received April 21, 2016 (see Memorandum 16-078); and
WHEREAS, Arno Construction, Inc. of Homer, Alaska, was found to be the lowest responsive bidder; and
WHEREAS, The work is funded by a ADEC grant and financed through a EPA low interest loan; and
WHEREAS, The low bid is within the project budget approved by the ADEC and the City Council.
WHEREAS, This award is not final until written notification is received by Arno Construction, Inc. from the City of Homer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, awards the contract for the Shellfish/South Slope Water Main Extension and Shellfish Avenue PRV project to the firm of Arno Construction, Inc. of Homer, Alaska, in the amount of $530,341.00 and authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents necessary to complete this project.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 9th day of May, 2016.
