RESOLUTION 17-023

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE WIRELESS CONTROL SYSTEM FOR HARBOR HIGH MAST LIGHT POLES TO THE FIRM OF PUFFIN ELECTRIC, INC. OF HOMER, ALASKA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,702 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

    WHEREAS, In accordance with the Procurement Policy the Request for Proposals was advertised in the Homer News December 15 and 22, 2016, the Peninsula Clarion on December 18, 2016, the Alaska Dispatch News December 18, 2016, and posted on the City’s webpage; and

WHEREAS, The Request for Proposals included an option for wireless lighting controls that would enable fine tuning the area lighting system, taking advantage of the long Alaskan twilight with an increase in energy savings; and

WHEREAS, Proposals were due on January 30, 2017 and five proposals were received; and

WHEREAS, Puffin Electric, Inc. of Homer, Alaska, was found to be most responsive; and

WHEREAS, The proposal is within the project budget approved by the City Council; and

WHEREAS, This award is not final until written notification is received by the firm from the City of Homer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, awards the contract for the Wireless Control System for Harbor High Mast Light Poles to the firm of Puffin Electric, Inc. of Homer, Alaska, in the amount of $30,702 and authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents necessary to complete this project.

    PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 13th day of March, 2017.
