RESOLUTION 18-062

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE HARBOR RAMP TWO RESTROOM REPLACEMENT PROJECT TO THE FIRM OF BEACHY CONSTRUCTION. OF HOMER, ALASKA IN THE AMOUNT OF $426,200 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, Competitive bids were solicited for the Harbor Ramp Two Restroom Replacement Project in conformance with The City of Homer’s procurement policies; and

WHEREAS, The project was advertised in the Homer News on May 30 and June 7 and in the Peninsula Clarion on June 3, 2018; and 

WHEREAS, Four bids were received and opened on July 6, 2018 (see Memorandum 18-083 from Public Works); and

WHEREAS, Beachy Construction, Inc. of Homer, Alaska was found to be the lowest responsive bidder; and

WHEREAS, The low bid is within the project budget approved by the City Council; and

WHEREAS, This award is not final until written notification is received by the firm from the City of Homer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, awards the contract for the Harbor Ramp Two Restroom Replacement Project to the firm of Beachy Construction, Inc. of Homer, Alaska, in the amount of $426,200 and authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents necessary to complete this project.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 23rd day of July, 2018.
