Bridge Creek Reservoir Groundwater Study

The University of South Florida Ecohydrology Research Group (USF ERG) and the Kachemak Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (KBNERR) have been investigating groundwater dynamics in the Lower Kenai Peninsula for over two decades.

In 2022, the City of Homer contracted with USF ERG and KBNERR to conduct a focused investigation on the groundwater dynamics in the Bridge Creek Reservoir (BCR) which supplies water for city residents and serves as the headwaters for the South Fork Anchor River.
