Homer Public Library in 2046

At the beginning of this century, the citizens of Homer set out to construct a new library to serve their growing community. They designed the building around what they thought Homer would need over the following 20 years: lots of computers, lots of space, and plenty of capacity for meetings and events. Their projections were remarkably accurate.

The new building opened on Sept. 16, 2006, and that 20-year plan expires...now.

Federal Funding Secured for the A-Frame Water Transmission Main Project

Great news for our community! Congress has approved federal funding to replace the A-Frame Water Transmission Main Project, which supplies drinking water to the west side of Homer.

Indigenous History for Kids: Dena'ina History at the Homer Library

Learn about the history of the Dena'ina people in the southern Kenai Peninsual and Alaska.

Registration is required. This event is intended for elementary aged kids.

This program is part of a series of collaborations between the Homer Public Library and the Pratt Museum. Events for school aged youth will take place on KPBSD early release days throughout the school year. Stay tuned for future events!
