HERC 1 - Where are We, Where have we Been and Where Do We Go Now

Originally built in 1956 as the Homer High School, the HERC (Homer Education and Recreation Complex) is a two-story structure consisting of three distinct spaces (a lower level gymnasium wing, an upper level classroom wing, and a center two-story space that connects the two wings). It is located west of Pioneer Avenue on Woodside Avenue and the Sterling Highway. The property encompasses 4.3 acres, and includes an additional older two story former school building, which is currently used by the Public Works Department.

Homer Chamber of Commerce's Legislative Committee to Host Candidate Forum for Homer City Council Election

When:  Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm

Where:  Land's End Resort - Quarter Deck Room

Meet the candidates for Homer City Council and have a chance to ask questions prior to the election October 5th. State and CDC COVID-19 Guidelines will be followed for the in-person meeting.  You can also Live Stream the event at HomerAlaska.org or Listen on KBBI AM 890.

This meeting will be conducted in person at the City Hall Cowles Council Chambers.  Masks are required for all attendees. Masks will be available at the door.

If you are sick do not come to City Hall.  Remain at home and use an alternative participation option.

Economic Development Advisory Commission Regular Meeting

NOTICE:

Commissioners from the Planning Commission, the Parks, Art, Recreation and Culture Advisory Commission, and the Port and Harbor Advisory Commission were invited to this EDC meeting as attendees to see Corvus Design's presentation on the Wayfinding-Streetscape Draft Plan.

This meeting was moved to the upstairs Conference Room at City Hall due to technical issues in the Council Chambers. Because it’s a small space, attending via Zoom instead of in-person is encouraged.
