Homer Public Library will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 24-25 in honor of Thanksgiving. Enjoy your holiday!

This meeting will be conducted in person at the City Hall Cowles Council Chambers.  Masks are strongly encouraged for all attendees. Masks will be available at the door.

If you are sick do not come to City Hall.  Remain at home and use an alternative participation option.

In honor of Veterans Day, local author Doug Dodd will give a talk about his latest book, Hero Unaware: Letters Home from a Navy Corpsman During WWII. The book presents a collection of letters from his father, who served in the Pacific from 1942 to 1945. This is the story of how a farm boy from Montana ended up at Saipan and Iwo Jima, and the effect his wartime service had on the rest of his life.

The book is available at the Homer Public Library. Check it out today!

On Friday, October 8^th, the Canvass Board counted absentee, special needs and question ballots to confirm the outcome of Homer's October 5th Regular Municipal Election and issue the Certificate of Election. 

After City Council approved and accepted the Certified election results at their October 11^th meeting, City Clerk Melissa Jacobsen oversaw the swearing-in of three Homer City Council members.

The library will be closed for Alaska Day on Monday, October 18th. The library will reopen on Tuesday, October 19th at 10:00am.

The Alaska Redistricting Board will be holding a Public Meeting in Homer on Wednesday, October 13^th from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Best Western Bidarka Inn at 575 Sterling Highway.  

Members of the Redistricting Board will be at the meeting to present and receive public feedback on the six proposed Redistricting Plans for reshaping the state’s electoral map.  Large printed maps will be on display at the meeting.

Jimmy Riordan is the current Bookmobile Artist in Residence October 3rd – 10th at the Bunnell Street Arts Center.
