Juneteenth Celebration presentation with Ted Carter

Join the Friends of the Library and guest speaker Ted Carter! 

Ted Carter’s Juneteenth presentation will explore the origins and legacy of Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. The presentation will cover key historical moments—including the Emancipation Proclamation, the delayed freedom of enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, and the cultural importance of Juneteenth today.

Pick Up Soccer: Summer 2025

Drop in, pick up soccer for participants in 7th grade to adults.  Casual, fun and semi- competitive soccer games at the Homer High turf.  Please note:  there are some time changes and cancellations due to high school activities. Please check the field schedule HERE for updated turf calendars.

Level Up at Your Library: LEGO Contest! (Drop-off)

Design a LEGO creation related to the Summer Reading Theme: Level Up at Your Library! Use your imaginations to create something that demonstrates the theme! Follow your own ideas, not LEGO instructions! (No LEGO sets, please.)

Bring your creations to the library between Sat. July 19 and Wed. July 23. 

Judging will take place on July 24. Winners will be announced at the End of Summer Reading Party on Saturday July 26. 

Summer Reading Challenge Ends 2025

It's time to turn in your reading trackers!

Return your trackers to the library front desk by 6pm on Friday, July 25th to have them count for prize giveaways at the party on Saturday.
