2024 Election Results
The official election results are included in the Certificate of Election attached below. This certificate is pending the Canvass Board signatures; a signed copy will be attached to the resolution certifying the election at the October 14th regular Council meeting.
What does the certification mean?
The table in the top section certifies the results of the votes counted by the ballot tabulation system. The ballot tabulation system is used to count ballots on election day, and also at the Canvass Board when absentee ballots are verified and counted.
At the October 1st election, voters had the opportunity to vote for at least two candidates in the City Council Member race and one candidate in the Mayor race. A voter is not required to vote in every race for their ballot to be counted.
The paragraph at the bottom certifies the number of voters who voted a ballot in the October 1st election. Pursuant to Homer City Code 4.04.020 “voter” means any person who presented himself for the purpose of voting, either in person or by absentee ballot.
