Discover Nancy Lord's new collection, Let Them Tell You  as she joins fellow authors Richiard Chiappone and Nikki Ervice for a discussion on short stories. Moderated by Tom Kizzia. 

A Friends of the Library event! An author and professional dancer originally from Homer, Nikki Ervice will share from her debut novel Roadshow. Her novel is an intimate, cross-country journey examining the fragile ties between class, legacy, and the grueling hustle of the stage. 

Meet Alaska boat captain and author Mary Jacobs for an inspiring discussion of her new memoir, She Takes the Helm: Lessons in Grit from Alaska’s Fishing Grounds.

Discover her remarkable journey from a cannery worker seeking adventure to the captain of an all-female Alaskan fishing crew. Overcoming steep barriers, demanding fisheries, and the challenges of raising a family, Jacobs built a life commanding her own vessel on the water.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Homer Public Library building at 500 Hazel Avenue! As we commemorate the last two decades in this location, we invite you to join us in celebration at the library open house.
