Reserve a Park Pavilion

Pavilions and/or gazebos are available to reserve  at Karen Hornaday Park, Bishop's Beach, WKFL Park, Mariner Park, and the Kachekmak Bay Water Trail Pavilion. The Boathouse Pavilion does not take reservations and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis to any event or activity that is open to the public.

The Homer Public Library will be CLOSED Thursday, July 4th.

Regular library hours resume Friday, July 5th.

All About Bees!

A Summer @ HPL 2024 Event!

A local beekeeper, Jennifer Frazier, will bring her demonstration hive to show real bees! We'll learn about why pollinators are so important and what we can do to help them! For all ages (preschool and younger with a caregiver).

Troubleshooting for Unusual Water Use

1. Do the “one-hour” test

Your water meter is located inside the building, typically in your crawlspace or basement utility area.

Read all of the numbers on the water meter straight across from left to right and write those numbers down.

Read, Renew, Repeat: LEGO Contest! (Drop-off)

Design a LEGO creation related to the Summer Reading Theme: Read, Renew, Repeat! Use your imaginations to create something that demonstrates the theme! Follow your own ideas, not LEGO instructions! (No LEGO sets, please.)

Bring your creations to the library July 17 - July 23. 

Judging will take place on July 24. Winners will be announced at the End of Summer Reading Party on Saturday July 27. 

End of Summer Reading Party

Summer@HPL 2024 concludes with an outdoor party at the library!

Join us outside the library for music, games, ice cream, and hot dogs. Reading challenge participants can collect their final book prize. Drawings for additional prizes! LEGO contest winners will also be announced!
