Climate Risk Assessment

This climate risk assessment was a free  service provided by the Woodwell Climate Research Center for the Cities of Homer and Seldovia.  The report analyzes climate change related hazards that the southern Kenai Peninsula is likely to experience in the coming years. 

The report is intended to help our communities develop resiliency by providing data based forecasts of future climate change challenges.

2023-2028 CIP

The Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) provides information on capital projects identified as priorities for the Homer community.  Projects to be undertaken by the State of Alaska and other non-City organizations are included in the CIP in separate sections. An overview of the financial assumptions can be found in the Appendix.

The projects included in the City of Homer's 2023-2028 CIP were compiled with input from the public, area-wide agencies, and City staff, as well as various advisory commissions serving the City of Homer.

Winter Roads & Right-of-Way Awareness

Winter season is a busy time for Public Works team to keep our roads clear and safe.  City plows start running at 4am!  Here you will find the latest updates on road conditions, where our road crews are sanding and plowing, any road closures, and public advisory notices.

We all need to do our part to make sure City Roads crews can operate the equipment needed to keep roads and Right-of-Ways clear and safe for everyone. Remember, blocking the Right-of-Way and City roads is prohibited.

Digital Equity Town Hall

This event is hosted by the Alaska Municipal League as part of a series of listening sessions across the state. This facilitated conversation intends to help guide community stakeholders through a conversation on digital equity, and in completing a survey that will inform statewide work.

We expect this session will be less than two hours, and participation will be both by invitation and for members of the public interested in the dialogue.
