On July 27, 2020, the Homer City council voted to abolish all overdue fines for the Homer Public Library!

The City of Homer is doing everything possible to enhance access to information, learning and literature. Items still check out for the same length of time, and lost items still carry a charge for replacement and processing. Please call or email us with any questions you may have.

Homer Public Library now offers 24/7 wi-fi access outside the library building. The signal should be accessible in the plaza and the parking lot to the west of the building. The login process is the same as for in-building access. If you need help with connecting, please call 907-235-3180.

The Commissioners will be meeting at Karen Hornaday Park at 3:30 p.m. to conduct their annual fall park walk through inspection then proceed directly to Bishops Beach Park at approximately 4:00 p.m. to conduct an inspection at that park and the beach area. The regular meeting will follow at 5:30 p.m.

You can register for a free account at Zoom.us and be able to attend the meeting virtually and have the ability to "raise your hand" to comment on items on the agenda.

A special assessment district may be created for the purpose of acquiring, installing or constructing a capital improvement that primarily benefits real property in the district, in contrast to capital improvements that benefit the entire community and are paid for with general government resources or improvements that benefit a specific individual parcel.

Please see the attached documents for details on the process and the application form if you are interested in forming a special assessment district for water, sewer or road improvements.
