Water Taxis

The Public Works Campus Task Force was created by City Council via Resolution 20-125 to perform the following in response to the 2019 Tsunami Inundation Report authored by Drs. E.N. Suleimani, D.J. Nicolsky, and J.B. Salisbury with the Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (AKDGGS).

The Task Force Scope of Work was outlined as follows by Council:

A Sterling Highway Water and Sewer Special Assessment District neighborhood meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 5:30 p.m.  This is the second meeting schedule for property owners to hear updated information on the improvement plan, its boundaries, and the estimated costs.  Public Works staff will be available at the neighborhood meeting to answer questions on the proposed project, so please plan to attend.

The neighborhood meeting will be held virtually via Zoom from Homer City Hall at 491 E. Pioneer Avenue.

The Kenai Peninsula Borough is holding a public meeting about the Southern Kenai Peninsula’s Community Wildlife Protection Plan Friday, July 23rd at West Homer Elementary School from 4 pm to 6 pm.  You are invited to attend and give input on area wildfire planning, response and recovery.

The ADA Compliance Committee along with Parks, Art, Recreation & Culture Advisory Commissioners and City Staff will be performing Accessibility Surveys at Jack Gist Park from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The group will be visiting the city owned park to perform measurements and capture photos of accessibility compliance.
