INVITATION TO BID
By the City of Homer, Alaska, for the
2012 Paving Project

Sealed bids for the construction of 2012 Paving project will be received at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, City of Homer, 491 East Pioneer Avenue, Homer, Alaska, until 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 9, 2012, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. The time of receipt will be determined by the City Clerk’s time stamp. Bids received after the time fixed for the receipt of the bids shall not be considered. Bidders are required to be on the plan holder’s list to be considered responsive. To be on the Bidder’s List (and to obtain bid documents contact: City Clerk, 491 E. The project is funded through the City of Homer Accelerated Road and Trails fund. The City’s local bidders 5% preference requirements and state prevailing wage rates will apply. The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and other facilities necessary to perform the desired services. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Grind 155,000 SF of asphalt pavement, adjust sewer manholes and water valves to grade, incorporate ground asphalt into subgrade, import 500 CY of leveling course, install 160,000 SF of asphaltic pavement, install striping and other miscellaneous work.

A pre-bid conference will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2012 at 1:30 PM at the Homer Public Works Offices to answer any questions bidders may have.

Plans and specifications may be downloaded at no charge or hard copies can be obtained at the office of the City Clerk upon payment of $195 per set ($230 for overnight delivery). City of Homer Standard Construction Specifications 2011 Edition (containing general contract provisions) may be downloaded from the City’s web site. All fees are non-refundable. The City of Homer reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities or informalities in the bids, and to award the contract to the lowest responsive bidder.
