SUBJECT:           DONATION OF ART TO THE CITY MUNICIPAL ART COLLECTION                 

                This application submitted by Argent Kvasnikoff for donation of the sculpture entitled Tuggeht Janju Tets                 (Homer Medicine Stick) was reviewed by the Commission at their regular meeting on September 20, 2018.

                Following is the excerpt from the minutes related to the Commission’s recommendation:

F.   Donation of a Work of Art to the City Municipal Art Collection                                 

Chair Harrald read the item into the record.

ROEDL/SHARP MOVED TO APPROVE THE DONATION.

Points were raised that the Library really wants this piece; they do have a collection of art that they are struggling with currently and should hesitate to recommend taking on another piece of art; the Library Advisory Board supported the donation; Library Director Dixon expressed the desire to have this piece displayed in the library.

VOTE. NON-OBJECTION. UNANIMOUS CONSENT.
