RESOLUTION 18-022

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA APPROVING A FIVE-YEAR SUBLEASE AT THE HOMER AIRPORT TERMINAL FOR RAVN ALASKA - CORVUS AIRLINES, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

 

WHEREAS, The current airport terminal sublease between the City and Ravn Alaska - Corvus Airlines expires on April 30, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Per Chapter 4 of the Property Management Policy and Procedures Manual, a Request for Proposal to lease airport terminal spaces was advertised in the local newspapers,  and the City’s website; and

WHEREAS, Ravn Alaska - Corvus Airlines has requested a new, 5-year, sublease (a DOT/PF limitation) at the existing rate of $114,044 annually to be paid in equal monthly installments of $9,541.15 per month, with annual Consumer Price Index adjustments; and

 WHEREAS, Ravn Alaska - Corvus Airlines is a tenant in good standing a provides valuable economic and transportation benefits to the community; and

WHEREAS, The City Administration have evaluated the relevant facts and determined that it is to the best interest of the City to enter into a new lease with the current sublessee and it makes such a finding by resolution.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska hereby approves a new, five year sublease, through March 30, 2023 at the Homer Airport Terminal between the City and Ravn Alaska – Corvus Airlines  at a rate of $114,044 annually, and authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents.
