Candidate's Statement:
As the owner of a small business on Main Street in Homer, I am eager to see our town center develop into a thriving, mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly destination that attracts visitors and residents alike, and which offers abundant, affordable, long term housing for a growing workforce.
With three kids who walk from our home to local schools, I know first hand the importance of ensuring safe, pedestrian-friendly streets in as many of our more central neighborhoods as possible, and I am seeking reelection to the city council in part so that I can continue working with city staff and with other council members to ensure that new neighborhoods have sidewalks, and that as many existing ones as possible are retrofitted with them.
