Voting in the Alaska State General Election 2020

Homer City Council Chambers will be open for Absentee in Person Voting for the State of Alaska General Election beginning October 20, 2020 thru November 2, 2020 Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm.

•             Voters who wish to absentee vote in person are asked to follow social distancing guidelines as identified at the polling place.  Voters entering City Hall are requested to wear mask that covers their nose and mouth, masks will be available on site if they need one.

•             To accommodate social distancing a limited number of people will be allowed in the Council Chambers and lobby at a time. A covered area will be available outside for people to wait in line.

•             State General Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd.  The polls will be open for in-person voting from 7am until 8pm.  Voters who wish to vote in person are asked to follow social distancing guidelines as identified at the polling place.  Voters entering their polling locates are requested to wear mask that covers their nose and mouth, masks will be available on site if they need one.

•             If you’d like to have your General Election ballot mailed to you so you can vote from home, please submit an Alaska Absentee Ballot Application by October 24th.  For voters who receive their ballot by mail, voted ballots may be returned by mail and must be postmarked by November 3rd, Election Day.   Those voters may also return their voted ballots in their return envelopes to the Absentee Voting officials at City Hall.  To have the General Election Ballot mailed to you: https://absenteeballotapplication.alaska.gov/

•             If you’d like to receive your ballot by electronic transmission (online delivery or fax), the Electronic Transmission Absentee Ballot Application will be available on the Division of Election’s website beginning October 19, 2020 and must be submitted no later than November 2nd at 5p.m. AST To vote by electronic transmission you will need to have an fax machine, to request Absentee Ballot by Fax or Email Address and access to a printer for online delivery of an absentee ballot.
