Join HPL’s Susan, a retired elementary teacher, in this fun introduction to coding for children K – 2nd grade. Learn to program an Ozobot using colors. We will spend an hour playing with Ozobots and programming them to do the tornado dance or light up with a variety of colors.

Read Together Book Club

We’ll read The Very Very Far North by Dan Bar-el. He’ll be at the library for a virtual visit the end of June! Read the book with the group and talk about it so you are ready for his visit! Space limited. Books provided for participants.

Design and create a Lego build on the theme of Read Beyond the Beaten Path. Bring your creation to the library Fri, Jul 22-Sat, Jul 23 for display in the library. Works will be judged by age group throughout the following week and prizes awarded at the end of the summer party on Fri, Jul 29!

Stories and S’mores at Bishop’s Beach

R.E.A.D with Ruger

Grades K-2
Ruger is a reading therapy dog and he loves to be read to! He'll be at the library for a series of three days. Pre-register for one 15 minute session with Ruger. Sessions with Ruger are for K-2nd graders, and limited to one session per person. We'll announce any additional openings.

Whatcha Reading?: Teen Book Club and Book Swap
