Homer Is 2nd Safest City in Alaska - 2nd Year in a Row

In mid-April, Safewise released their annual findings on Alaska's five safest city's.  For the second consecutive year, Homer ranks as the second safest city in Alaska, behind Sitka.  Palmer, Unalaska and Ketchikan finish out the top five slots. 

Safewise (an independent review and comparison company dedicated to providing consumers with information and educational materials about home security systems and techniques) bases its rankings on the most recent FBI report.

Notice is hereby given that the North Pacific, a 98’ Martinolich commercial vessel, Coast Guard Documentation # 511698, located in the Homer Small Boat Harbor on JJ float below the Harbormaster’s office in Homer, Alaska, will be sold by the City of Homer to the highest bidder as is, together with equipment, gear, furniture, apparel, fixtures, tackle, machinery, anchors and all appurtenances.

City of Homer ADA Transition Plan

The Americans with Disability Act (ADA) requires that State and local governments comply with Title II of the ADA that covers programs, activities, and services of public entities.  To ensure the City of Homer complies with ADA requirements, a Transition Plan was created and adopted that identifies barriers within the City's public facilities and sets out a schedule to take action to address these barriers to improve accessibility to City facilities for all.
