Attend the Parks, Recreation & Trails Symposium

Greetings Trail folks!
The City of Homer's Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission is pleased to host the 2nd Annual Parks, Recreation and Trails Symposium on Tuesday May 3rd, from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Islands and Ocean Visitor Center.  

This year’s Symposium, will have two parts: 
Part I: After introductory remarks, we will break into 4 rotating workgroups to look at maps of the City of Homer, broken up into four zones:

The Trails Symposium is your chance to connect with other community members and organizations to promote safe, accessible trails and a walkable, bikeble community.  Learn about current projects and help prioritize future community efforts!

Next time you stop in the Fire Department to borrow a chimney brush, report a suspicious smoke plume or get your child safety seat checked – a familiar, ever cheerful face will be missing.  After over thirty years with the Homer Volunteer Fire Department, Elaine Grabowski is retiring May 1st.   

National Drug Take Back Day encourages you to clean out your cabinets of drugs of any type: prescription, over-the-counter or illegal, expired, unused, or unwanted drugs--including prescription drugs for pain, like opioids, ointments, vitamins, samples, even medications for pets.
