The City of Homer has adopted the 2045 Comprehensive Plan Update!

Homer City Council adopted the plan at its November 24, 2025 meeting by Ordinance 25-64. The Final 2045 Comprehensive Plan Update adopted by the City Council will be posted on the City website in early December. 

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), in cooperation with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), has been engaged in a construction project to rehabilitate and improve Homer Airport runways and taxiways with the goals of extending the service life of the airport, improving safety, and improving airport perimeter access for airport security, maintenance, wildlife hazard management, and airfield rescue operations.

The project addresses deficiencies identified by the State, including:
