A generous local patron has donated $10,000 to the Library Endowment Fund, to ensure that Homer Public Library can continue improving its facilities and services, modernizing its equipment and purchasing materials for the future. Now, she challenges the community to match that contribution by the end of 2024!

The library will CLOSE EARLY at 1pm on Tuesday, December 24th and remain closed through Wednesday, December 25th.

OPEN Thursday, December 26th - Monday, December 30th during normal hours.

The library will CLOSE EARLY at 1pm on Tuesday, December 31st and remain closed through Wednesday, January 1st.

Regular hours resume Thursday, January 2nd.

Update January 21, 2024 The City of Homer Homer Spit Storm Surge Emergency Declaration elapsed on January 13, 2025. Fortunately, the weather has cooperated and there has been no new storm surge events since November. The Alaska Department of Transportation received authorization to extend the emergency revetment wall to connect it to a  shoreline hardening structure at the property of the Glacier D building.  The State expects contractors to begin work on that new section in mid-March 2025.

As of November 15, 2024, the City of Homer is partnering with a new vendor, Xpress Bill Pay, to accept secure, online Utility Bill payments. 

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Customers who previously used Intellipay to make utility bill payments need to set up a new account with Xpress Bill Pay because existing Intellipay accounts did not automatically transfer to Xpress Bill Pay.
