Burn Suspension for the Kenai Peninsula

Starting June 14, 2021 the Kenai Peninsula is under a burn permit suspension.  The burn suspension prohibits all burning requiring a permit, both large and small scale.  This includes the use of burn barrels and burning of brush piles.  The suspension is only in effect for the Kenai Peninsula.  It does not include Kodiak Island.

Clone of 2022-2027 Capital Improvement Plan

Attached is the City of Homer's 2022-2027 Capital Improvement Plan, or CIP for short.  

The CIP provides information on capital projects identified as priorities for the Homer community.  The projects included in the City of Homer’s CIP were compiled with input from the public, area-wide agencies, and City staff, as well as various advisory commissions serving the City of Homer.

Descriptions of City projects include ways the project will benefit the community, cost and schedule information and a priority designation Level 1 (highest), 2 or 3.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi (Taiji) and Qigong are related health and longevity arts that originated in China.  These arts are excellent for mind and body health.  They are effective for managing stress, enhancing resilience, improving balance, musculoskeletal strength, heart health and mental focus.  Classes are open to both beginning students and those with experience.  These movement classes are done standing and stepping and designed to build skills through repetition.

2022-2027 Capital Improvement Plan

Updated annually, the City of Homer’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) is a long-range guide for capital project expenditures. See 2022-2027 CIP link below.

The CIP includes capital projects the community envisions for the future with a plan that integrates with the City’s annual budget. The CIP identifies ways projects will benefit the community, cost and schedule information with a priority designation Level 1 (highest), 2 or 3.  Projects are compiled by input from the public, regional agencies and City staff, plus various advisory commissions that serve the City of Homer.
