NOTICE OF SALE
Notice is hereby given that the Champion, a 175’ commercial vessel, Coast Guard Documentation # 585677, located in the Homer Small Boat Harbor on System 5 Float (Ramp 8) below the Harbormaster’s office in Homer, Alaska, will be sold by the City of Homer to the highest bidder as is, together with equipment, gear, furniture, apparel, fixtures, tackle, machinery, anchors and all appurtenances.
The last known owner is Letzring Marine LLC, PO Box 6, Kasilof AK 99610.
A bidder’s packet and bidding instructions are available at Homer City Hall, Office of the City Clerk, 491 E. Pioneer Avenue, Homer, AK 99603, Phone (907) 235-3130. Sealed bids will be received at the office of the City Clerk until 2:00 p.m., September 7th, 2023, at which time they will be opened and read. The time of receipt will be determined by the City Clerk’s time stamp. Bids received after the time fixed for the receipt of the bids shall not be considered. Bidders are required to be on the City’s plan holder’s list for their bid to be considered. All bidders must submit a City of Homer Plan Holders Registration form to be on the Plan Holders List and to be considered responsive. Plan Holder Registration Forms are available online at http://www.cityofhomer-ak.gov/rfps
The sale will be awarded to the highest bidder whose bid meets all requirements. Payments must be made in cash, certified check or cashier’s check. There is a minimum acceptable bid of $15,000. The City of Homer reserves the right to reject all bids. The City will require the winning bidder to sign a Supplemental Moorage Agreement with conditions. Conditions shall include a detailed plan on how the bidder will remove the vessel from the harbor within 60 days of purchase and the acquiring of a surety bond in an amount no less than $1,200,000 to assure compliance with that removal plan. Further information is available by contacting the Homer Harbormaster’s office.
The winning bidder will receive a Bill of Sale and a quit claim for the City’s ownership interest in the Vessel. The winning bidder will take responsibility for any and all liens currently encumbering title to the Vessel. The City makes no guarantees as to the title of the Vessel or the condition of the vessel and/or the existence of any liens, claims, maritime liens, rights in rem, right of redemption or encumbrances whatsoever.
