Sealed Bids for reconstruction of the Woodard Creek Culvert at Fairview Avenue will be received by the Office of the City Clerk, City of Homer, 491 E. Pioneer Avenue, Homer, Alaska 99603 until 3:00 PM, Thursday, June 15, 2021, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.  Bids received after the time fixed for receipt of the bids shall not be considered. All bidders must submit a City of Homer Plan Holders Registration form to be on the Plan Holders List to be considered responsive. Plan holder registration forms and Plans and Specifications are available online at http://www.cityofhomer-ak.gov/rfps 

A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cowles Council Chambers, City Hall, 491 E. Pioneer Avenue, Homer, Alaska 99603 with a site visit immediately following.

Paper copies of the bid documents may be purchased for $100 ($150 Overnight delivery). City of Homer Standard Construction Specifications 2011 Edition (containing general contract provisions) may also be downloaded from the City’s website. All fees are non-refundable.

The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and other facilities necessary to perform the project in accordance with the plans and specifications. The work includes, but is not limited to the following:

Removal of the current culverts for Woodard Creek at Fairview Ave and construction of a new, 110 foot long, 73”x55” arch culvert. The arch culvert will be replaced in open excavation. Backfill will consist of classified fill and stockpiled excavated embankment material. The 10” DIP water and 8” DIP sewer mains must be temporarily removed and reinstalled while the abandoned 8” DIP water main must be removed and capped. One quarter ton of rock must be placed on the southern facing slope for slope protection.
