Homer Title 21 Update Open House
Calendar Date:
Homer, please join us for a Community Open House on Thursday, November 6, from 6 – 8 p.m. to learn about potential updates to Title 21 City Code, Homer’s zoning policies, and to share your feedback.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at the Kenai Peninsula College’s Kachemak Bay Campus. Enjoy a snack and preview the topic stations before the presentation starts at 6 p.m., followed by information and discussions at five topic stations.

Revising Title 21 is the second step in the 2045 Homer Comprehensive Plan Update, which is nearing completion. Zoning is a tool used to achieve the intent and future land use goals set by the comprehensive plan. To date, City planning staff and consultants have been working with the Planning Commission and Homer City Council, with input from residents, builders, developers and businesses. Revisions have been drafted to improve zoning policies with the following goals in mind.
- Streamline development processes and increase predictability
- Increase clarity and flexibility in the code
- Better align the code with community plans
- Consider natural hazards and preserve natural features
- Add visuals, simplify, and reorganize to make the code more user-friendly
Now it’s your turn! We’d appreciate your feedback on the potential changes. We hope you’ll join us!
