We're excited to present our third Homer Big Read!
This year the focus of our community read will be Thornton Wilder’s books The Bridge of San Luis Rey and Our Town. Together we'll examine themes including making sense of tragedy, what it means to make a life in a small town, how to seize the day, and the continued importance of reading and literature in a well-examined life.
We’ve created a community-wide initiative to read fifteen books throughout the year. Anyone can participate, although the books were chosen with adults or mature teens in mind.
Each book you've read (and reported) enters you into a monthly drawing for a prize. Any person who reads and enters fifteen or more books by the end of the year will be eligible to win the grand prize!
